150 years ago, a Norwegian by the name of Hans Gutzeit understood the potential of the Kotka-Hamina region and the Kymi River. A lot has happened since – including setbacks that would have discouraged many. But we didn’t let structural changes stop us, deciding to follow an inspiring innovation strategy instead.

Innovations already conquering the world

Kotkamills, a forest industry expert, has developed a groundbreaking plastic-free packaging board. The innovative company’s contracts with international food giants are leading to further expansion in production, creating more jobs in the region.
